Our team organizes an array of workshops and seminars covering topics that can enhance your business and your community. Knowledge is power and we tap into experts and community leaders to expose our members to the information that will provide you an edge to step ahead of everyone else.

THE ONE ON ONE

WORKSHOP

THE ONE ON ONE WORKSHOP (GOVERNMENT TO BUSINESS)

These workshops will be by appointment only. DAAG will meet with all the procurement specialists to see what opportunities they have available in the 6, 9, and 12-month time frame and meticulously research the list of businesses that can be matched to these opportunities for competition. Once this is established, we will arrange discussions between the businesses and the procurement specialists so that these businesses have an opportunity to present capability in this setting. DAAG will host 2 events in 2017.

LARGE BUSINESS PRIMES TO SMALL BUSINESSES

These workshops will be open to the public. DAAG will meet with the large prime contractors currently working or trying to obtain work in

the Charleston County area. DAAG will work with the large primes to see what information they would want the other businesses to provide in this meeting. Then we will set up discussions between the businesses and the large primes so that these businesses have an opportunity to present capability in this setting.

Seminars

FUNDING YOUR BUSINESS:

DAAG will have a funding company or banking institution come in to talk about the benefits of funding and the different ways you can get your business funded properly. They will discuss the importance of the D&B credit rating of your business and how it effects the banking institutions and/or funding company’s decision on whether to provide the funding you are seeking. They will also sit one on one with the businesses that are ready to proceed and apply funding at that time.

ESTATE PLANNING WORKSHOP

HOW TO RESPOND TO AN RFP

A speaker will provide a sample RFP to participants and walk through the requirements and the sections to help the businesses to understand the document. They will discuss the importance of pricing methodology.

They will also discuss the importance of meeting all the requirements required in the document to provide a complete response to the request.

They will answer questions as requested by the attendees.

BONDING/INSURANCE:

A Bonding specialist will come in and discuss the importance

of having the proper insurance levels to qualify your company for work.  They will also discuss the severe consequences if you do not have the proper level of insurance and how it could put you out of business, or worse in jail.

They will also discuss the importance of bonding and the reasons why you can’t secure bonding at the levels you need. Finally, how to increase your bonding levels after you get it.

BUSINESS 101:

This seminar is for the new business owner who is just learning how to do business with the government. It will provide basic information about how to get your business registered to how to obtain an EIN for your business. It will talk about how to get a D&B number so that you can begin to establish credit for your company.

It will also talk about the importance of doing your due diligence in obtaining the proper insurance, getting an accountant or accounting system, and having a lawyer or contracts administrator that can review any contracts that you win so that you can execute properly and to the letter of the law.
